Warning signs of Infidelity
Recent studies reveal that 45-55% of married women and 50-60% of married men engage in extramarital sex at some time or another during their relationship (Atwood & Schwartz, 2006 - Journal of Couple & Relationship Therapy)
The signs of an unfaithful spouse may be there and you are trying to avoid them. It is important to alleviate the fears, questions and growing suspicion. Be vigilant and confront your concerns for the health of your relationship and for your future.
Here are some signs of infidelity that may draw your attention:
Spending too much time on the Internet, especially late at night. Deleting all incoming e-mails and outgoing emails to avoid detection. May even have set up a new secret e-mail account
Having a strong desire of privacy while online
Time on the computer becomes more important than family events
Spending too much time on the cell phone and gets calls late at night.
Less interested in engaging in family activities
Accusatory, irritable and easily moved to anger- may to pick fights as an excuse for stomping out of the house
Change of day to day behaviors
Becomes defensive when questioned about whereabouts
Working late at the office or suddenly having to be away on "work" trips more often.
Being caught in small lies more often
Lack of attention and affection toward you
Significant changes in grooming habits (changing aftershaves, joining the gym, getting a new hairstyle, frequent bathing and buying new underwear)
Change in sex life -stops having sex with you or suddenly wanting sex more often , as well as out-of-character sexual requests.
